The fifth edition of the Egypt Mining Forum was launched in the new capital city, with the participation of investors and companies from local, regional, and international levels, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Minister Engineer Kareem Badawy emphasized Egypt's goal of increasing the mining sector’s contribution to 6% of the gross domestic product. The country showcased progress made by 119 companies since June, exploiting 118 sectors across an area of 45,000 km², which includes gold, phosphate, talc, and others, along with opportunities for exploring rare minerals. Egypt also announced important industrial projects, including a phosphoric acid plant with an investment of $650 million, scheduled to start in 2028, aimed at maximizing added value, stimulating investments, and boosting exports in the sector.
