Chinese satellite cloud service starts operations

China launched its in-orbit space cloud computing platform, which has been providing regular experimental services since the beginning of 2026. It allows users worldwide to process, store, and analyze data instantly and sustainably through satellites and space stations. The platform is built on the TianSwan constellation, launched by Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2021. It consists of 16 low Earth orbit satellites and 7 ground stations, serving more than 60 organizations and conducting international experiments with researchers from over 50 countries.
