Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf announced that Iran will not allow the sale of oil in the region if it is prevented from exporting it. He emphasized that the equation of targeting oil involves all parties, and that the security of the Strait of Hormuz is linked to the absence of American forces in the area. In response to U.S. attempts to disrupt Iranian oil exports, Ghalibaf affirmed that Iran will respond in kind if its interests are threatened, especially given the ongoing American attacks on Iranian and Gulf targets since the beginning of the year, as well as the resumption of maritime talks after signing a memorandum of understanding in June 2026. He stated that Iran will defend its nuclear and economic interests and that it will not be restricted in exporting its oil.
