The Financial Times reported that Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelensky, requested permission from the United States to utilize the Starlink system via drones to carry out strikes inside Russian territory, with the range of these attacks limited to 200 kilometers. Zelensky attempted to obtain approval from Elon Musk, owner of Tesla and the operator of Starlink, during his meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump in July. However, both Trump and sources indicated that Musk was likely to refuse the request. Russia considers Western arms supplies to Ukraine as an obstacle to achieving a peaceful settlement. It also views the presence of Starlink on the front lines as subject to bans and disruption by Russian electronic warfare systems. Additionally, issues and interruptions have been reported in the operation of Starlink stations in areas controlled by Ukrainian forces.
