According to reports from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, 97% of the agricultural land in Gaza is out of service, with the available and unaffected areas decreasing by 25.5% since October 2025, as a result of conflicts and Israeli restrictions. Ignoring the significant damages to the land, an additional 3,643 hectares remain accessible but are not suitable for cultivation without rehabilitation. Additionally, the area of greenhouses has decreased by 17.3%, reaching 224 hectares, reflecting the major challenges facing the agricultural sector, which before the war accounted for about 10% of Gaza’s economy and supported more than half a million people. The ongoing restrictions continue to hinder recovery efforts and exacerbate the food and economic crisis in the area.
