Ukraine is facing a severe shortage of American Patriot interceptive missiles, with none having been launched in the past six weeks. Currently, the country has only about 1% of the stockpile needed to withstand the winter, according to President Zelensky. The reason for this shortage is the intense consumption of missiles in the Gulf regions, where they are used to counter drone and tank attacks, leading to a significant gap between production and consumption rates. Lockheed Martin produces approximately 1.7 missiles per day, whereas at the start of the Iran war, the demand was as high as 225 missiles daily. Ukraine is working on manufacturing its own missiles under American licenses, but experts confirm that immediate production is not feasible due to the complexity of the process. Washington has also warned of the risks associated with the theft of American military technology.
