Libyan Oil Corp Controls Zawiya Fuel Fires

The National Oil Corporation in Libya announced that it has gained control over all fires that broke out in the fuel tanks at the Zawiya refinery in the western part of the country, following drone attacks. Five attacks have been contained over the past three days, the latest occurring this evening. The tanks have been subjected to repeated targeting, including the destruction of a diesel tank and subsequent fires, despite the refinery having been restarted after previous attacks. Zawiya is considered one of Libya’s most important oil cities and plays a key role in the country's economy, which heavily relies on oil, with 93% of its revenues coming from the sector. Nevertheless, security threats to the oil infrastructure persist.
