China releases interpretation on Ecology Law

The Supreme People's Court in China issued a legal judicial interpretation to support the implementation of the Ecology and Environment Law, which was enacted last March. The purpose of this interpretation is to ensure a smooth transition between the old and new laws and to enforce the law accurately. It will come into effect starting August 15th. The interpretation consists of 13 articles that clarify the standards and procedures followed by the courts when reviewing environmental cases, where cases are handled under the old laws before the new law enters into force, and subsequent cases are addressed according to the new law.
