Energy sector issues $750M green bonds

Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, "TAQA," announced the successful issuance of blue bonds worth $750 million, with a five-year tenor, to finance sustainable water management and wastewater projects. This is the first of its kind in the Gulf region and the largest issuance of blue bonds in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. The bonds received strong demand from international investors, with a coupon rate of 5.125%. They are issued under the updated green and blue financing framework established in 2023, aimed at funding water-related projects and sustainable energy infrastructure. TAQA also noted that it has invested around $10 billion in energy transition projects since 2021.
