An unprecedented test flight of the Airbus A350-1000 ULR for the "Sunrise" project operated by Qantas has been carried out. The journey covered a long distance, taking approximately 24 hours from Melbourne to Toulouse, passing over the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, traversing North America and Europe. The flight included a low pass over Toulouse Airport and a holding pattern before the final landing—a step whose inclusion in the test program Airbus did not disclose. This aircraft, currently undergoing testing, is among the longest ultra-long-range aircraft. It is targeted to operate daily direct flights between Sydney and London starting in October 2027, following approximately 80 hours of flight tests and technical modifications. Once operational, it will be dedicated to flights lasting up to 22 hours.
