Lebanese Prime Minister Nawar Salameh affirmed that his country will continue efforts to ensure the full Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon, in accordance with the framework agreement signed between Lebanon and Israel under American auspices. The Lebanese Army has begun deploying in the western Zahrani town, one of the test areas, as a step considered a precursor to Israel’s gradual withdrawal from the region. This was accompanied by efforts to restore essential services and facilitate the return of displaced persons, who numbered over a million. More than 700,000 of them have returned to their homes since the signing of the agreement, following mass displacement caused by the war between Hezbollah and Israel, which resulted in widespread destruction in the south.
