Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharj issued a new set of appointments within security institutions, including Anas Khattab as Director of the National Security Office and Minister of Interior; Hussein Al-Salama as Assistant to the National Security Office; Mufleh Shantout as Assistant to the Minister of Interior for Security Affairs; and Abdul Qadir Tahan as Head of the General Intelligence Service.
