Ministry of Commerce on Tea and Rice Prices

The Tunisian Ministry of Commerce and Export Development confirmed that the decisions issued in October 2026 regarding the pricing of certain types of tea and rice do not include the products promoted by the Tunisian Office of Commerce. Their prices have not changed and remain at previous levels. The Ministry pointed out that the implementation of these decisions is limited to the types of tea and rice marketed by private traders, aiming to regulate prices that have exceeded 16 dinars per kilogram for green tea, 20 dinars for black tea, 28 dinars for Sri Lankan tea, as well as 4,500 dinars for peeled rice and 7,500 dinars for Basmati rice. The Ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumers' purchasing power by monitoring prices and strengthening market intervention mechanisms, as part of a plan to improve the living conditions of citizens.
