Tunis Receives AU Award for Inclusion

Tunisia received praise from the African Union after being classified among the advanced countries in implementing the Financial and Economic Inclusion Initiative for Women and Youth. This recognition was in acknowledgment of its success in supporting women's economic empowerment and enhancing their participation in economic activities. The acknowledgment came during the second session of the "Egomini" Dialogue on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, held in Addis Ababa, where Tunisia highlighted its achievements through the national program "Raaidat," which created over 10,000 job opportunities and contributed to the African Union’s goals of expanding women’s and youth’s economic representation. The African initiative aims to mobilize $100 billion to support 10 million African women and youth by 2030. Alongside Tunisia, countries such as Algeria, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe were also honored, recognizing their national policies supporting economic and social empowerment.
