Tunisie Telegraph: Woman burning French flag during protests

Social media circulated a video purportedly showing a woman burning the French flag during protests in France. However, investigations revealed that the footage actually dates back to a protest held in front of the French consulate in Tangier, Morocco, on October 24, 2023. The demonstration was organized by protesters in opposition to French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Israel. The video was not related to the recent wave of protests in France or Europe; rather, it is a recurring scene that has been misleadingly interpreted. It had previously been circulated in June 2024 during a migrant-related campaign in Europe. The footage depicts a political expression of anger within a specific context of protests in Morocco and does not reflect the recent violence and large-scale demonstrations that France has experienced.
