Siberian surgeons remove 8.7kg tumor
Doctors at Novosibirsk Hospital in Western Siberia successfully performed a surgical operation to remove a large benign tumor that was pressing on two-thirds of the abdominal cavity and displacing internal organs. The tumor, a lipoma, measured 25 by 50 centimeters and weighed 8.7 kilograms. It caused persistent discomfort for the 39-year-old patient, despite no changes in weight or blood test results. The procedure was delicate due to the tumor's involvement with blood vessels and its encasement within surrounding tissues over the years. The surgical team managed to remove it completely, resulting in the alleviation of pain and an improvement in the patient's overall health. He is currently recovering at home.
