Tunis Telegraph: Teen Sets Homeless Man Afire During Robbery

A 13-year-old Tunisian child was found in Sanremo, Italy, having used a petrol bottle he prepared from a gas station to pour gasoline on a man approximately 40 years old while he was sleeping and set him on fire in an attempt to steal his bag. The victim sustained burns to his legs and was taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, the suspect fled before authorities could identify and locate his residence through surveillance cameras. This incident is legally sensitive, as Italian law does not hold children under 14 criminally responsible. The case has been referred to the juvenile court to determine appropriate measures, while discussions continue about how to handle cases involving children involved in serious crimes.
