Doctors' Deanship Condemns Harassment
The National Council of the Medical Syndicate condemned the widespread awareness campaigns on social media that include defamation and incitement against doctors, especially after targeting a university doctor and several young physicians. It affirmed that the right to appeal and accountability is protected, but emphasized that social networks should not be turned into venues for public trials or used for defamation and attacks on doctors' dignity. The council also underscored the responsibility of doctors to make independent professional decisions based on scientific and ethical considerations. Additionally, it announced that legal actions will be taken against accounts inciting defamation. The council called on doctors to report all forms of violence through a dedicated platform, aiming to document the phenomenon and address it effectively.
