Miloni: U.S.-Russia Diesel Deal Risks

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated that the agreement between the United States and Russia regarding diesel supplies is a risky option, as it opens the door to further funding of Russia's war in Ukraine and weakens sanctions efforts. Moscow and Washington agreed on supplying more than 300,000 tons of diesel to the global market, and former President Trump believes this will lower energy prices in the United States. Meloni warned that this agreement boosts Russia's legitimacy and diminishes the effectiveness of sanctions, and she called on the European Union to establish a unified negotiating entity regarding the Ukrainian war.
