Tunisia to launch digital agricultural census in 2026-2027
Tunisia plans to carry out its first fully digital agricultural census during the 2026-2027 season. The goal is to update the database and digital information related to the agricultural sector, thereby supporting strategic planning and encouraging investment. The census will gather comprehensive data on sector structure, farm characteristics, and their geographical distribution, aiming to assess production potential and analyze sector needs at both national and regional levels. The methodology will be based on digitization, with data entered via digital field panels while ensuring the protection of personal data. This initiative will help improve development strategies and direct investments, significantly contribute to addressing climate and economic challenges, and optimize the utilization of agricultural resources.
