Mahdia Implements Urgent Rust Control

The Regional Delegation for Agricultural Development in Mahdia announced that urgent measures have been taken to combat Olive Tree Blight, which was detected in the regions of Al-Aitha and Henchir El-Shatt. The actions include dedicating 250,000 dinars to fight the disease, commissioning the National Institute of Olives in Sfax to prune the infected trees, and deploying a team to monitor the spread and raise awareness among farmers. It is worth noting that Olive Tree Blight reduces the productivity of olive trees but does not affect the quality of the oil. This disease is old and well-known in the agricultural sector.
