Labour and social security reforms for social justice

The Minister of Social Affairs, Essam Al-Ahmar, confirmed that developing the Employment Gazette and social security systems in Tunisia will help achieve social justice and improve citizens' quality of life. He indicated that work is underway to restructure these systems to include all Tunisians, ensuring health coverage and securing minimum income through a database of low-income families. Additionally, the government has formulated a plan to encourage the informal economy to join the social security system, offering flexibility in contribution payments to cover pensions and healthcare, with the aim of supporting the sustainability of the social financing system. He also noted that enabling children up to 18 years old to receive family allowances without conditions helps reduce school dropouts.
