Gaza students resume classes after war

Approximately 700,000 male and female students in the Gaza Strip have returned to school with the start of the 2026/2027 academic year, after three years of Israeli war. Despite most educational buildings being damaged and some converted into shelters for displaced people, students have had to learn inside tents or through remote education. The Ministry of Education in Gaza's plan targets around 350,000 students this year, compared to 270,000 last year. Flexible learning models are being implemented, including functional schools, temporary centers, and digital education, with the aim of restoring the educational process despite the challenges caused by the destruction of buildings.
