Data from the Kairouan governorate shows that from the beginning of the year until September 2026, there have been 154 traffic accidents resulting in 74 deaths and 164 injuries. The leading causes of accidents were excessive speed (34%), followed by lane changes and dangerous overtaking (20%). The Safety Branch called for increased vigilance and adherence to traffic rules, especially during the evening hours, to reduce risks and protect lives.
