Sousse Economic Monitoring and Water Supply Improvement

During the months of July and August, the economic oversight teams in the Sousse governorate conducted over 5,700 inspections across various distribution channels, including all municipalities of the region. The aim was to monitor the trading of foodstuffs, vegetables, fruits, and other products. These operations resulted in 416 economic violations, including the seizure of 67,000 liters of bottled mineral water and 15,750 cigarette packs by relevant authorities, due to monopolistic practices, pricing violations, and illegal storage of goods. Additionally, 104 violations were recorded for price increases or hidden goods. Surveillance was intensified on suppliers and distributors to ensure the mineral water reached consumers and to improve market supply levels.
