Europe's alternative to Starlink for Ukraine

The article focused on the restrictions imposed by the military expansion of SpaceX's Starlink network on the use of services in Ukraine, particularly the discontinuation of connectivity in military units moving at high speeds, which impacts drone operations and field communications. It explained that these restrictions include limitations on speeds or usage procedures, resulting from decisions made by the U.S. military and the United States, and pose a threat to Europe's future reliance on Starlink for military and security communications. The article also reviewed current and future European alternatives, such as the OneWeb network, Eutelsat, and SES, which are working to establish an independent space infrastructure to support secure and military communications. However, these solutions require time to develop and to provide flexible, rapid coverage to reduce Europe's dependence on Starlink.
