WhatsApp enforces strict measures on outdated smartphones

WhatsApp plans to tighten security requirements on phones running outdated operating system versions. They have begun testing a feature that prevents some users from logging into their accounts if they haven't updated their device's Android or iOS system. A message will appear prompting the user to update their phone's system before able to continue, with no option to dismiss it. The likely goal is to enhance security and protect accounts from vulnerabilities that malicious software could exploit on older devices, although the company has not officially confirmed the reasons. This feature will be rolled out gradually and may affect users on outdated OS versions, requiring system updates from the phone's settings to log back in.
