Tebas Faces Dismissal and Ban Over Madrid Clash
The dispute between Javier Tebas, President of La Liga, and Real Madrid has sparked controversy after potential procedures by the Spanish Higher Sports Council. The council is currently examining whether he should be dismissed or suspended for up to three years, following his comparison of Real Madrid’s statements to Nazi remarks, which drew widespread criticism from the Royal Club. Reports indicate that the case is now under review by the council's legal department, and a formal complaint must be filed to determine Tebas’s future. This comes amidst protests from Real Madrid and FC Barcelona fans in recent matches, who voiced their dissatisfaction with La Liga’s management and accusations of corruption. It is worth noting that there is a legal precedent involving a former official, Luis Rubiales, who was suspended for three years after the kiss incident with the football star. This increases the likelihood that Tebas could face a similar punishment if the council decides to pursue legal action against him.
