Seville protests Real Madrid and VAR Guler cover-up

The match between Real Madrid and Sevilla in La Liga was marked by significant refereeing controversy following a highly suspicious incident. Turkish referee Arda Güler challenged Sevilla player Peki with his elbow in the 22nd minute, which should have resulted in a straight red card. However, he only received a yellow card, igniting the anger of Sevilla fans and widespread criticism from the Spanish media regarding the refereeing, especially within the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) room. Doubts were raised about the concealment of footage that could justify the player's dismissal. Although Real Madrid ultimately won 4-1, the discussion centered on possible manipulation of the technology and the ignoring of clips that might confirm the assault, along with criticisms of the chosen refereeing style and decision controls.
