UAE Chess Summit Sets 2028 Goal

The Sharjah Cultural Chess Club hosted the UAE Chess Summit 2026, which aims to unify visions and strengthen collaboration to develop the game in preparation for hosting the 2028 Abu Dhabi Olympics. The summit discussed three main axes: preparation for the Olympics, building a sustainable sports legacy, and developing national teams and technical staff, with the goal of enhancing the UAE's status on the global stage, expanding the base of practitioners, and achieving future accomplishments up to 2030 and beyond. This initiative is considered a strategic step to strengthen players' abilities, train coaches, and develop infrastructure for the game both locally and internationally.
