F1 reenters Africa through Rwanda

Formula 1 racing is set to return to Africa for the first time since the 1930s, with a ten-year Grand Prix hosted in Rwanda. The first race is scheduled to be held in Bujumbura once the new circuit is completed. This move is expected to boost Formula 1's presence on the continent and open opportunities for more races in the region. It is considered a significant step for African sports economics and the history of the sport, as Africa has previously hosted 24 Grands Prix, mostly in South Africa, along with the event in Morocco in 1958.
