Venezia dismisses Stroppa after six losses

Venice, the team in last place in Italy's Serie A, has sacked its coach Giovanni Stroppa after six consecutive defeats at the start of the season, making it the fourth Italian team to change its coach since the beginning of the season. This came after Stroppa led the team, which was promoted back to the top flight from Serie B, but was unable to improve its performance. The team has conceded 16 goals and sits at the bottom without any points. Venice, owned by an American investment fund and representing the city of Venice, suffers from the worst defense in the league. The decision to dismiss the coach comes as part of the team's efforts to improve its results early in the season.
