English clubs suggest penalties for City

English clubs are currently considering sanctions against Manchester City after their conviction for violating financial rules between 2009 and 2018. The proposals range from financial penalties of up to one billion pounds, to point deductions, restrictions on their ability to compete, measures against officials, and even relegation or expulsion from the Premier League. Opinions differ on the type and severity of the punishment, with some calling for repeated point deductions over multiple seasons, and warnings about the impact of City's potential relegation on first division clubs, especially regarding promotion opportunities. There is also discussion about imposing personal sanctions on officials and completely excluding the club. Meanwhile, legal proceedings and the club’s appeal process continue, and the final outcome of the sanctions remains uncertain until the final decision is issued by the competent authority.
