Al-Bulayhi sets record with unexpected red card

Saudi defender Ali Al-Bulayhi received a red card during the Al Shabab vs. Al Taawoun match in the Roshen Saudi League, bringing his total number of dismissals since the 2009-2010 season to five, tying him for the second-highest record in the competition. The incident occurred in the 33rd minute of the first half after a foul on Muhammad Al-Kooykibi, and video assistant referee (VAR) technology confirmed that it was a foul preventing a clear goal-scoring opportunity.
