Motsibi Calls for Election Decision on Infantino
Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), reaffirmed his support for Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, who is seeking a new term despite criticisms regarding the project to establish a private commercial company for organizing the World Cup rights. He emphasized that their backing is based on principles of governance, transparency, and ethics, noting that the upcoming elections will determine Infantino's future in 2027, supported by a united front of European, American, and Asian federations. This stance was expressed during the Cape Verde conference, which discusses the future of African football following a strong showing in the recent World Cup.
