Messi's Farewell Leads to Federation Tensions

Fans gathered at the Monumental Stadium in Argentina to chant against the president of the Football Association, Claudio "Tiky" Tapia, using profanities, before and after Argentina's match against Benin during Lionel Messi's farewell ceremony. The chants came from the upper stands and other parts of the stadium, accompanied by public insults reflecting the fans' dissatisfaction with the federation's performance, with some describing Tapia as corrupt. Journalists confirmed that these actions reflect a decline in the image of Argentine football, with the chants recurring during Messi's introduction using drones, indicating widespread discontent with the federation's management.
