In Rosario, his hometown, a giant jersey of the national team, measuring 30 meters in length, was installed, bearing the number 10 and the word "Gracias" (Thank you) in his honor. A message addressed to Messi stated that he "gave a lot to the team and to Argentina, and rekindled hope and dreams," expressing their sadness over his departure.
