The Knight returns in Qatar scene

The closing ceremony of the Nagoya 2026 Asian Games featured the passing of the Asian Games flag to Qatar, which will host the event in 2030. The ceremony involved the presentation of the Asian Olympic Council's flag, with Qatari athlete Mutaz Barshim carrying the flag before handing it over to rider Jassim Al Kuwari, who carried the flag on horseback in a scene reminiscent of a historic moment from the Doha 2006 Opening Ceremony, when Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani held the torch on his horse to light the Games cauldron. The event emphasized Qatar's sporting and cultural legacy, with a creative performance connecting the 2006 edition to 2026, as the countdown to hosting the 2030 Games begins, accompanied by a celebration of national identity through the performance of the Qatari national anthem.
