From wheelchair to EPL bench

The story of Newcastle United coach, Matias Jaissle, reveals his struggle with a tumor in his neck at the age of five, which led to the loss of the ability to move his neck and delayed his football career. Despite repeated injuries and a lack of stability caused by serious setbacks such as torn ligaments and cartilage damage, he continued to work and train, achieving success with clubs like Hoffenheim, Ringen, and Al-Ahli Jeddah, before taking over at Newcastle in 2026. His experience demonstrates how patience and determination can overcome health and professional obstacles, and underscores the importance of discipline and continuous development in reaching the highest levels of sport.
