Real Madrid expects Barcelona's removal from Champions League
The Union of European Football Associations "UEFA" plans to punish Barcelona over the Negreira case, as it considers that the evidence presented, which exceeds 50,000 pages, allows for sanctions that could include a full-season exclusion from the Champions League and financial penalties. The report focuses on unethical violations, particularly Barcelona paying the vice president of the Spanish referees' committee salaries for 15 years, which constitutes a breach of UEFA's code of ethics. The investigation continues despite legal proceedings in Spain, and Real Madrid is calling for immediate sanctions against the Catalan club, relying on the evidence they have gathered to prove the violations.
