Mohamed Sanhaji: From security to French star confidant

Mohamed Senhaji, former security chief for the French national football team, faced judicial investigations related to corruption, abuse of power, money laundering, and tax evasion. For 22 years, he was a close figure to the players, providing them with personal assistance and security services. He was placed under investigation in September 2026 following allegations of receiving money from players and using unauthorized financial benefits and accessories, including bonuses from Kylian Mbappé. Despite maintaining his relationship with the team after retiring from internal security, his official association ended after the investigation, with comments from coach Zinedine Zidane on his significant role in the club, while investigations are still ongoing.
