Gilardino directs Parma training

Parma Italian club has signed coach Alberto Gilardino to lead the team until the end of the season, replacing the dismissed Spanish coach Carlos Queiroz. Gilardino, who returned to coaching after being dismissed from Pisa in January 2026, has previous playing experience at Parma between 2002 and 2005, and has achieved success as a coach with Genoa, where he led the team back to Serie A in 2023 and secured their stay in the Italian league for the 2023-2024 season. His current contract is under discussions for a two-year extension. He succeeded Queiroz, who took over the team for the first time in the 2023-2024 season but was dismissed after a poor start marked by a 13th place finish and early losses.
