Kerridge Starts New Role in Ghana

Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz has returned to lead the Ghana national football team after retracting his previous resignation announced earlier following his failure to advance the team to the next stage of the 2026 World Cup. This comes after an agreement between the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Sports to reappoint him as head coach starting from the upcoming international break, in order to improve the team’s chances in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. Under Queiroz’s leadership, Ghana will play its first qualifiers matches against Ivory Coast and Gambia, in a group also including Somalia, in preparation for hosting the Africa Cup of Nations in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
