Abu Dhabi Marathon 2023 set for December 12

The Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in collaboration with ADNOC, is organizing the eighth edition of the Abu Dhabi Marathon on December 12, 2026, along the city’s Corniche. The event will feature a distinguished lineup of international elite runners as well as thousands of participants from various nationalities and age groups. The goal of the marathon is to promote a culture of sports and physical activity, reinforce Abu Dhabi’s position as a global sports destination, support a healthy lifestyle, and encourage the community to adopt sport as an integral part of a sustainable way of life. The marathon includes four different race distances: the full marathon (42.195 kilometers), 10 kilometers, 5 kilometers, and a 2.5-kilometer race for families and children. In preparation for the event, two preparatory races will be held in Dhafra and Al Ain to enable runners to test their readiness ahead of the main marathon, which is expected to attract professional and amateur runners from around the world. Since its inception in 2018, the marathon has seen growing participation and record-breaking numbers, with over 37,000 participants in the previous edition. A large spectator village will be established starting December 7 to enhance the festive atmosphere.
