9 killed in Colombia leftist group bombing

The Colombian President, Iván Duque Márquez, announced that his forces carried out an air strike on a camp of the "National Liberation Army" (ELN) rebels in the Cauca region of the southwest of the country. The operation resulted in the deaths of 9 members of the organization, including 7 minors. This action is part of a strict policy supported by the United States against armed groups that have continued to carry weapons since the 2016 peace agreement with the FARC movement. These groups are funded through drug trafficking, illegal mining, and extortion. The Cauca region is considered one of the most dangerous areas where illegal crops are cultivated. The ELN has been engaged in conflicts for over 60 years and has failed to reach a comprehensive peace agreement with the previous government.
