US Reconfigures its Air Force Map

The Pentagon and Lockheed Martin announced a ten-year agreement to produce 850 F-35 fighter jets, aiming to upgrade and expand the "F-35 Lightning II" program. This deal requires approval from Congress and funding, as it will provide Washington with a more costly program, with expectations of saving billions of dollars through long-term pricing and volume discounts. The company will support the production of 156 jets annually, secure 317,000 American jobs, and generate approximately $79 billion in economic activity over the next decade. The goal of the agreement is to enhance the capabilities of the U.S. Air Force and reduce production costs by improving the supply chain.
