Parliament Holds General Session

The Speaker of the Parliament, Nabih Berri, adjourned the parliamentary session that was dedicated to electing the Secretaries-General, during which Representatives Hadi Abu Hassan and Alain Aoun were unanimously elected. Additionally, three commissioners were appointed from among the deputies. A spirit of consensus and acclamation prevailed among the remaining members of the parliamentary committees. The Council also renewed the election of the Bureau and committee members, with minor changes to their compositions, involving the replacement of some deputies in the Defense, Justice, Agriculture, Tourism, Human Rights, and Information Technology Committees. The session reaffirmed the continuation of parliament’s work through consensus and new appointments.
