North Korea Looks to Deploy Tactical Weapons

Kim Yo-jong, the sister of North Korea's leader, stated that the country is considering deploying additional tactical weapons and resuming loudspeaker broadcasting along the border with South Korea, amid escalating tensions between the two countries since April 2024. She pointed out that South Korea threatened the safety of its forces with warning shots, noting that Seoul fired 2,870 warnings and 201 warning shots between August 1 and October 17, without disclosing its official response. The rising tension reflects North Korea's efforts to strengthen fortifications along its border, even as diplomatic efforts and dialogue between the two sides continue.
