Dutch princess Amaliya becomes sergeant

The news reports the promotion of Dutch Princess Catharina Amalia to the rank of sergeant in the Dutch armed forces. This is the first time a woman from the royal family has been granted active military service within the Dutch army. This step is part of an extensive training program she began last year, which includes service in the navy, air force, and army, while she continues her law studies in Amsterdam. The promotion took place during a ceremony aboard the historic ship "Stadhouder Willem van Oranje" at the port of Den Hilder, following her completion of an advanced field military training course. This initiative reflects a move toward integrating royal duties with practical military training and marks Amalia as the first woman from the royal family to undertake active military service in the Netherlands.
