Farid Al-Boustani urges raise to $1,500/month until law passes

The article focused on Deputy Dr. Fared Al-Bustani's demands to raise the daily withdrawal limits for deposits in Lebanon. He proposed increasing the maximum from $1,000 to $1,500 under Circular 158, and from $500 to $750 under Circular 166, aimed at enabling depositors to access their funds more freely, especially in light of rising inflation rates that have eroded their purchasing power. He emphasized that these measures are temporary and serve as initial steps, highlighting that a definitive solution to the crisis requires the enactment of a Financial Regularity Law in the Parliament to ensure the fair and equitable recovery of depositors’ financial rights.
